About the Role – Based at Our Altona Depot
We’re seeking an experienced HR or HC driver to join our Ballarat-based team in Ballarat. You’ll be operating modern, well-maintained vehicles including (Front lift, rear lift?) servicing commercial, industrial, and government clients across Victoria.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safe operation of company vehicles, plant and equipment including, but not limited to, rear lift, front lift, hook lift and ancillary equipment
- Inspect and report on maintenance requirements of company vehicles, plant and equipment
- Ensure that services delivered meet customer needs and requirements
- Ensure that documents and records relating to the tracking of waste are accurate and completed in a timely manner
- Maintain an acceptable level of productivity, which will be regularly measured and monitored
- Review results and outcomes and initiate improvement actions with managers and supervisors
- Communicate well and provide regular feedback on your own perspectives and needs
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:
- Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations that relate to the collection, transportation and disposal of solid and liquid waste, including hazardous wastes (education & training will be provided)
- At least 2 years’ experience driving heavy rigid and/or heavy combination vehicles
- Previous experience in the operation of waste management trucks would be of a significant advantage
- A forklift and/or vehicle mounted crane licence (preferred)
- A current HC licence
- Ability to provide a 5-year Vic Roads driver history and full driving record
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety laws and regulations
- An ability to work autonomously and perform as an individual and as part of a team
- Geographic knowledge of Melbourne metropolitan area
