About the Role – Based at Our Altona Depot

We’re looking for a Technical Sales Specialist to join our Altona team servicing a West Melbourne Territory. You’ll combine technical expertise with sales skills to deliver tailored waste solutions, build strong customer relationships, and drive business growth.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Opportunity to build a strong client base through proactive outreach and referrals.
  • Meet with potential new customers face-to-face and identify new opportunities.
  • Follow up contact with potential new customers.
  • Converting opportunities to sales.
  • Build and manage key internal and external relationships with managers, supervisors, and customers.
  • Manage existing customer accounts and identify additional services that could be offered to existing customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and opportunities in the CRM system

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and experience:  

  • Hunter mentality – proactive, driven, and motivated to seek out new business opportunities
  • Proven experience in technical sales, preferably within the liquid and waste management or environmental services industry
  • Strong technical understanding of liquid, and waste management processes, equipment, and technologies
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experienced and proficient in lead generation and identifying sales opportunities
  • Motivated to exceed the performance objectives and indicators for the position
  • Self-motivated with an ability to strategically plan their approach and the discipline to follow established sales processes
  • An effective communicator with strong communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
