Professional Summary:
Ken Dickens founded Corio Waste Management in 1996 and has been instrumental in shaping the company’s growth into one of Victoria’s most respected waste and recycling providers. With more than 40 years of experience across Australia’s waste management and resource recovery sector, Ken brings deep expertise in large-scale infrastructure development and strategic industry leadership.
Throughout his career, Ken has advised both public and private sector organisations on complex waste management projects, with expertise spanning strategic and commercial assessment, procurement, financial analysis, risk evaluation and mitigation, and mergers and acquisitions.
Ken is currently overseeing the development of a new tunnel composting facility in Bendigo, designed to process up to 30,000 tonnes per annum of food and garden organics from kerbside collections. The project reflects his ongoing commitment to advancing sustainable infrastructure and supporting Victoria’s transition to a circular economy.
In addition to his role at Corio Waste Management, Ken is Chair of the Waste, Recycling and Processing Association (Victoria) (WRAPA VIC) and a past President of the Victorian Waste Management Association, the state’s peak industry body. He continues to play an active leadership role in representing and advocating for the waste and recycling sector across Victoria.

As an expert in environmental policy and law in Victoria, Mat has been instrumental in implementing recent industry reforms. As CEO, he sets the strategic direction of Corio Waste Management, focusing on workplace culture and social impact.
